I want to ride Near Me cheaply

NearMe is a shared shuttle bus that takes you door-to-door to Haneda and Narita airports.

NearMe is available to Haneda Airport for a low fare starting from 1,980 yen, but today we will introduce a way to get a cheap ride on NearMe that is only available to those in the know.

◆ 4 tips for getting a cheap ride on NearMe

Here are four ways you should know about to get the cheapest ride possible. These are the four we will introduce this time.

  1. Get a discount coupon

  2. The person who has the coupon will make the reservation.

  3. Try changing your reservation time a little bit.

  4. If you are at the border between wards, move to the cheaper ward and board the fare.

1. Get a discount coupon

NearMe often gives out coupons that make the price even cheaper than the original price. The driver I rode with the other day said, "Many customers say they used NearMe for the first time because they got a coupon!"

As of May 2024, the coupons you can get are

  • Friend Referral 1000 Yen Discount Coupon

  • First-time discount 500 yen off coupon

  • Register on LINE and take a survey to receive a 500 yen discount coupon for your birthday month

If you haven't registered for NearMe yet, you can get a 1000 yen coupon by registering on the website below. In addition, if you answer a survey on LINE, you will receive a 500 yen discount coupon to use during your birthday month.

②The person who has the discount coupon makes the reservation.

In fact, with NearMe it's okay if the person who makes the reservation and the person who rides are different people.

For example, if my mother wants to take a NearMe to the airport, she doesn't have a coupon, but I can use the coupon I have to book a NearMe for her from my smartphone.

When making a reservation, if the person making the reservation and the passenger are different, enter the name, surname, email address, and phone number.

You can also make reservations for other people through the app.

Since you don't have to pay or show your smartphone screen on the day of travel, you can sometimes get a cheaper ride by having someone with a coupon make a reservation.

3. Try shifting your reservation time a little bit

This method may or may not be successful, but if you enter your desired arrival time at the airport as "5:00," you may be able to get a cheaper fare by entering "5:10," which is 10 minutes later than 5 o'clock exactly.

I don't know why, but it's only worked twice so far.

The discounts are as much as 500 to 1000 yen, so give it a try.

④When crossing wards, move to the ward with the cheaper fare and then board

NearMe fares vary depending on the district you board in.

NearMe price list
From the official page: Price list

Looking at the price table, it costs 2,480 yen in Chiyoda Ward, but 2,980 yen in Shinjuku Ward and Bunkyo Ward.

This means that people boarding at Iidabashi, which is on the border between Chiyoda, Shinjuku, and Bunkyo Wards, will save 500 yen if they board from the Chiyoda side, and people boarding at Takada, which is on the border between Toshima and Shinjuku Wards, will save 1,000 yen if they board from Shinjuku Ward.

The border between Nerima and Nakano wards is near Mejiro-dori and Senkawa-dori, and just crossing the traffic lights can save you 1,500 yen.

Please check if your boarding location is on the border between wards.

◆ Summary of 4 tips for getting a cheap ride on NearMe

What did you think of the cheap way to ride NearMe that we introduced this time?

As mentioned in point ②, you can make a reservation even if someone other than yourself is riding, so please keep this in mind when you go to the airport.
